Philadelphia – Drexel women's tennis earned a 6-1 victory over non-conference opponent La Salle at Vidas Athletic Complex. The Dragons swept doubles play and took all but one of the singles matches en route to the victory. The win pushed Drexel's season record to 5-7.
Reigning CAA Doubles Team of the Week, Gabriela Marginean (Cluj-Napoca, Romania/Mt. de Chantal Academy) and Emily Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) won at No. 1 doubles, 9-8 (5) while Marginean extended her singles winning streak to five matches with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Emily and twin sister Mellissa Lewis (Lake Geneva, Wis./Big Foot) both won their singles matches, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. La Salle earned its only point with a victory at No. 5 singles.
The Dragons return to the court on Saturday, April 14 for a non-conference match against Coppin St. The first match will begin at 2:00 p.m.
